How Can I Help? The Essential Toolkit for Supervisors, Managers, & Leaders

Tuesday, March 26, 2024 | 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM ET

Many of us come to supervisory roles having done front-line work; we know the struggles, fears, surprises, and joys of the work. Yet, providing meaningful support and supervision in the face of limited resources and organizational constraints can feel like an insurmountable task. At other times, we may know what to do to support our team, but we do not know how to do it effectively.

When it comes to staying well in a complex workplace, who one immediately reports to matters more than where one works (Duxbury & Higgins, 2012). This session will explore essential strategies and tools for supervisors, managers, and leaders looking to better support their teams. This includes research and discussions on building confidence and competence, cultivating a safe and supportive relationship, and mitigating the negative effects of trauma exposure.

Registration is limited to 40 participants.

Trauma-Informed Care & Service: Considerations for Teams & Organizations

Tuesday, April 16, 2024 | 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM ET

Implementing trauma-informed practices is quickly becoming an organizational imperative. We know that offering compassionate, responsive, and ethical care promotes positive outcomes and fosters a healthier staff (NCTSN, 2016.). Yet, while we may understand what this looks like for frontline workers, there is confusion about how to implement these practices on a supervisory and organizational level. Recent studies also suggest that organizations should prioritize becoming secondary trauma-informed in conjunction with this implementation.

To be effective, organizations and teams must make an on-going commitment to developing, implementing, and reviewing trauma-informed practices. This session will provide an overview of trauma-informed care, offer sector-specific resources on implementing trauma-informed care, and explore the limitations of these practices.

Registration is limited to 40 participants.
